Our story
05.03.2016
Meeting each other
We first met at UST. Spending countless hours working on several school projects, we built great memories together and our friendship deepened. Hectic schedules, sleepless nights, and a seemingly endless list of school-related stuff did not stop us to find some time to have fun and appreciate each other’s company. Little did we know that our friendship would eventually blossom into something more meaningful and romantic. When we found ourselves in Caleruega for our college retreat, we decided to make a promise to each other: in 2025, we would return to that very place and get married. As if in a blink of an eye, 2025 is finally here, and we will be fulfilling that one promise we made as college students. This May, we are going back to that small chapel atop a quiet hill in Batangas to say our vows and celebrate our love.

Getting Engaged
Many couples get engaged during vacation trips. They go to a picturesque location, he drops on one knee, and she says yes. The same would have happened to us – if we did not get drunk. When Benjo decided he was ready to pop the question, he did not even care when and where to do it. For him, the proposal must not be delayed anymore. AJ, of course, was clueless about his plans. Benjo chose one of their trips to do the big thing. He hid the ring under the hotel’s bed and prayed that everything would turn out well. But things got a bit out of hand that night when they drank a bit too much and got more tipsy than they could handle. Benjo did not abandon his plan and, despite having a blurry vision and a heavy head, proposed to AJ. But due to the unforeseen circumstances, he failed to drop on one knee. He simply pulled out the ring from its hiding place, asked the question, and hoped for the best. AJ ceased to be his girlfriend that night, not because she turned him down, but because she said “I do” and became his fiancée.
Today
Keeping the Love
Many things have happened since our college years and engagement. We faced numerous struggles and overcame the biggest hurdles. We shared a lot of laughter and went out to have some fun. We have had disagreements and argued about almost anything you could ever imagine, but we always find common ground and move forward. We protect each other as friends, cherish each other as lovers, and commit to one another as long-time partners. Looking out for the other person has been our commitment, and it will never change no matter what. We may move to a new place, get a new job, or reach our lowest points, but we will remain each other’s most trusted confidant. We have found our home in one another, and nothing will change that even as we embark on this next milestone in our lives as husband and wife.

When we recite our vows on our wedding day before God and His people, we hope that we will touch your hearts and inspire you to love genuinely and passionately in your own unique ways. We do not want our love to be engrained in our memories alone. We want it to be engrained in yours as well. We cannot wait to return to Caleruega and finally fulfill our promise.
